Cascade has reinvented the Iris goggle. True, these goggle have lost the itchy foam and the bottom is more open for better ground ball view. They also utillize the Optic Arm. The sliver plastic strap that helps to stabilize the fit. But these are not quite the best goggles out there.
The eye opening is not quite as large as the opening in the STX 4sight goggles. The opening is really only about at high as the height of the eye itself. So, there are bars in the sight line but the view is probably a little more open then the Iris. They bottom is also open, like the Mini, so ground balls are easy to see.
These goggles now have foam padding much like the padding in the Iris mini goggle. The Optic Arm seems to fit okay. The point where it goes over the ear is quite thin, but the plastic seams to flex. (I'm hoping it wouldn't crack in cold weather) Cascade does offer a two year warranty...
All in all these are pretty good. But I should mention that if the 4sights had better padding I would probably be wearing them. (See my review of the 4sights) But since the 4sights don't sit right, I have decided to wear these. The open botton was my main reason for purchasing these. (See my review of the Iris)
If you want a goggle that is more open than the Iris, bigger than the Mini, and more comfortable than the 4sights then I would recommend giving these a try.
