No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I tried this stick from a friend, and did NOT like it at all. The stick is described as a beginners stick, but it will only frustrate someone who is new to the game. The heavy weight will compromise stick maneuvers and will make it hard for younger players to generate speed on drives. I would recommed the STX wave for beginners instead.
